ANOTHER GOAL FOR LIEKE MARTENS

Netherlands playmaker Lieke Martens has proved winning can become a habit with her successful selection as the 2017 World’s Best Woman Playmaker .
 Lieke Martens’s life completely changed after winning the European Championships with the Netherlands on home soil last summer. The 24 years old player , who joined the FC Barcelona this summer, was voted best player of the tournament and won later the UEFA and FIFA Women’s Player of the Year Award as well. The offensive football of the Netherlands team was represented THE WORLD’S BEST WOMAN PLAYMAKER 2017 :
by Lieke Martens, who stood out with her technical skills, speedy dribbles and excellent teamwork.
Last year’s winner Dzsenifer Marozsan, who has been in the Top 5 since the first rankings in 2012, was the natural favourite this year because of her exceptionnal success with Olympique Lyon, but Euro and the success of Martens changed the picture.
The IFFHS voters from 91 countries all over the World voted 165 points for Martens, relegating Marozsan to second place with 98 points, followed by Marta and Lloyd.

THE WORLD’S BEST WOMAN REFEREE 2017

THIRD AWARD FOR BIBIANA STEINHAUS !

Outstanding referee Bibiana Steinhaus made it a double for German football when she won the 2017 IFFHS vote as The World’s Best Woman Referee in same time that Felix Brych by the men.
Steinhaus became the happiest woman in the football world and stepped into a new area in May 2017 when the DFB Referees Commission announced she would be the first woman to take charge of matches in the men’s major Bundesliga in Germany. In September she took to the field to become the first woman to referee matches in the top five leagues of the World !
91 Experts and journalists from all continents crowned Bibiana Steinhaus for the third time after 2013 and 2014 to The IFFHS World’s Best Woman referee 2017 with a convincing advance.
She began her referee career in 2005, leaded matches of men Second Bundesliga  and woman international matches since 10 years, for example the World Cup final 2011 in Germany, the Olympic Games final 2012 in England and the Champions League final 2017 in Wales.
The Swiss referee Esther Stäubli took a brilliant second place in the ranking, she became this year the first woman referee to lead a men World Cup Under 17 match in India.
Behind her, the two last winners Katalin Kulcsar (2016) and Katerina Monzul (2015) were preceded at the third place by the French Stephanie Frappart, revelation of the season.

Franse goalie Sarah Bouhaddi Beste van de wereld

De Franse nationale doelvrouw en doelvrouw van Olympique Lyon heeft haar titel geprolongeerd als Beste Vrouwelijke Doelvrouw van de Wereld op de IFFHS 2017 Awards. Met 190 punten was zij veruit de beste, MAAR onze doelvrouw SARI VAN VEENENDAAL eindigde als 2e met 112 punten, de Nederlandse doelvrouw en keepster van Arsenal!
Op de 3e plaats eindigde PSG keepster Katarzyna Kiedrzynek van Polen met 42 punten.

Bouhaddi has gained 120 international caps for France since 2004, won her 8th national championship  with Lyon, as well as her 6th French National Cup and her 4th Women’s UEFA Champions League this year. She also gave the European title to Lyon, scoring the decisive penalty in the final against Paris SG.
Dutch keeper Sari Van Veenendaal also made a stellar season and her ability played a great part in the national team’s final victory in the Women’s Euro 2017. It was one o the major reasons in winning second place ahead of Katarzyna Kiedrzynek and the surprising progress of young Austrian keeper Manuela Zinsberger of Bayern München who was only two points away in fourth place.

It is the first time that Hope Solo, four times winner of the Award, has not appeared in the ranking since the beginning of the AWARDS in 2012 because of her suspension. She didn’t play any match in 2017.
